Jonathan Stein is a Potter from Cincinnati, Ohio who has been making pottery and building kilns for over ten years. He completed his MFA in Ceramics at Utah State University in 2017. Following graduate school he established a studio practice in Upstate New York, where he taught design courses and managed a community ceramics center. Jonathan is particularly interested in the use of glaze in atmospheric kiln firing and the majority of the work in his shop comes from wood and soda firing processes he has been developing throughout his life as a potter and educator. He recently returned to Cincinnati, Ohio to fill the position of Education Director at Queen City Clay and has set up his home studio in Bellevue, Kentucky. Jonathan enjoys the support of his partner Madeline Walker (@madelinewalkerart). He has a heck of a cat named Phoebe and a puppy named Little Bear, who has recently been named studio mascot of Queen City Clay.
